CONAILL CLOSE THE DOBHAIR

NAOMH Conaill manager Martin Regan hailed neversay-die Naomh Conaill as they reclaimed the Donegal SFC title.

The Glenties men staged a stirring comeback to defeat Gaoth Dobhair in Letterkenny and win their eighth crown since making their breakthrough in 2005.

Shea Malone nailed a stunning two-pointer to force extratime, where teenager Max Campbell bagged a killer goal.

"We've been written off and a lot of people would have been saying it all year the rule changes wouldn't suit us," Regan said.

"They just keep fighting. They keep battling, keep battling, keep battling and they will not give up. I know we're sick saying it at this stage, but they will keep battling if there's a game to be won.
