Trump claims Iran peace deal soon... but both sides gear up for escalation

THE clock is ticking on the Iran war ceasefire as both sides gear up for an escalation while dampening hopes for an imminent breakthrough.

US President Donald Trump claimed a settlement could come soon before insisting he had told negotiators not to “rush into a deal” - and Tehran warned lasting peace is not “imminent”.

Western sources told the Mirror war could resume within days as all sides, including Israel, prepare their militaries.

‘American intelligence now believes Iran has retained 70% of its missile capability and has continued to strengthen its drone potency.

Since the April 8 ceasefire the US military has started resupplying its armada of aircraft carriers and destroyers parked off the Oman coast.
