BRITAIN'S most infamous prisoner Charles Bronson will not have the chance to prove he can be trusted unless he is moved to an open jail, his former governor has said.

Yesterday, the 73-year-old made his ninth appeal to the Parole Board, three years after it was accepted by the panel that his behaviour had improved but he was not ready for a transfer.

John Podmore, who was his governor at HMP Belmarsh in South East London, said he had experimented with taking Bronson out of solitary confinement in 1996.
