Trump favours Russia over Ukraine war and tells Zelensky, 'Get your act together'

DONALD Trump has blasted Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, saying he must “get his act together and start accepting things" if progress is to be made in ending the war.

The US president claimed Russia holds the “upper hand” in attempts to negotiate a peace deal and accused Ukraine's European backers of talking too much and failing to deliver the support Kyiv needs four years in to war.

Mr Trump has centred himself within a renewed diplomatic push, but his 28-point peace proposal has failed to win agreement from either side.

The plan has stalled over irreconcilable demands, particularly on Ukraine relinquishing territory and guarantees against future Moscow aggression.
