Liverpool FC parade driver guilty
THE former Marine who drove his car into fans at Liverpool's victory parade was nailed by his own dashcam and yesterday dramatically admitted he was guilty.
Paul Doyle, 54, changed his plea and confessed to ploughing his two-ton Ford Galaxy Titanium into supporters.
He sobbed in the dock as he entered guilty pleas to 31 charges relating to 29 victims, including a six-month-old baby and a 77-year-old.
The dad-of-three had initially denied using his car as a weapon in an act of "calculated violence", which injured 134.
Some pedestrians including children - were trapped under the people carrier as 750,000 fans had gathered to celebrate Liverpool FC winning the Premier League on May 26 this year.
Doyle changed his pleas minutes before the prosecution was due to open its case at Liverpool crown court.
Wearing a dark suit and tie, Doyle removed his glasses, bowed his head and clasped his hands together as he admitted all the charges - dangerous driving, affray, 17 charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, nine counts of causing GBH with intent and three counts of wounding with intent.
