THE decision to award Hull KR’s winning try in the Challenge Cup Final was correct due to a strange anomaly in the rules.

The Robins ended 40 years of hurt to finally secure major silverware, with Tom Davies’ late try and Mikey Lewis’ touchline conversion securing them an 8-6 win.

However, the try was not without controversy, as it was awarded after consultation with the video referee, and many felt the try shouldn't have been awarded.

Tyrone May's kick through had caused a chase for the ball and after it squirmed free, Davies managed to ground the ball before it hit the dead ball line.
