Wellens admits Saints must improve to beat the Robins

PAUL Wellens has hit back at critics surrounding St Helens’ attack, but has conceded that his side will need to improve to get past Hull KR tonight.

The Saints head to Craven Park to take on the Robins with a Super League Grand Final place up for grabs.

They defeated Leeds Rhinos at the death last week, with one of the competition's all-time greatest tries finished off by back rower Shane Wright.

However, their attack before that was clunky at best, with rhythm hard to find. It was, in spells, tough to watch, with the side looking to take it up a gear in East Hull.

And Wellens has every confidence that the Saints can do just that, with a staunch defence given of his side's efforts with the bail this year.

He said: "I think the spotlight gets put on our attack probably more so than any other team, for some reason, and I'm not quite sure why that is, because I think we scored the third most tries in the competition, behind a couple of other teams.
