Quota rule breakthrough puts FC in driving seat to retain Liam Knight

HULL FC could be handed a huge recruitment boost in the coming days, with the RFL expected to grant at least one additional quota spot for Super League clubs next year.

Hull are one of many Super League clubs that have been pushing for the passing of a quota exemption rule for overseas players playing in UK competitions since 2020 - with the additional spot allowing the Black and Whites to keep mid-season recruit Liam Knight under their quota allowance into 2026 and beyond.
As it stands, Super League clubs are allowed seven spots per season to use on overseas talent - with the additional spot taking that total to eight and getting Knight under Hull's quota allowance alongside new signing James Bell.
