DARYL Powell is eager to see his Wakefield Trinity side take on Hull KR again as he warned the next meeting between the two will be closer.

Powell expects Trinity to push KR closer later in the season

Rovers ran out comfortable winners as six tries saw them prevail 34-10. However, the final scoreline wasn't a fair reflection of the game. Wakefield were leading 10-6 after half an hour, with the first half proving a high-quality contest.

Wakefield were without a number of important players. Mike McMeeken, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Matty Storton, Ky Rodwell, Renouf Atoni and Mathieu Cozza, all key forwards, were missing, and they lost half-back Jake Trueman to injury at half-time.

Rovers blitzed Wakefield through the middle after the break, but Powell was adamant the same won't happen again when the two teams meet again in September.
