Plaque unveiled to honour Royal Navy hero

A BLUE plaque has been unveiled at a house in Bridlington to honour a brave sailor who once lived there.

The plaque paying tribute to Able Seaman William Becker has been installed at 40 Trinity Road. It was unveiled on Tuesday, April 8.
Local historian and author Richard Jones, who lives in the resort, has dedicated his life to writing about forgotten disasters and heroes, and recently spearheaded the campaign to install a memorial at Hull Paragon station, for the victims of the city's worst rail disaster. He was behind the move to honour Becker.
