Need to tackle poor outcome from Brexit

THE one thing Peter Auty (Mail Box, February 7) and I can agree on is that Boris Johnson delivered a “poor deal” Brexit for Britain.

Any agreement ends there.Mr Auty argues this poor deal was inevitable because the alternative was to be “still negotiating”. This rewrites history.

In 2016, no voter could have predicted our departure would be negotiated during a once-in-a-century pandemic. People voted in good faith for a better future, not for constitutional upheaval during a global crisis.
