Investigation into 'accidental' ship fire in Albert Dock

HUMBERSIDE Fire and Rescue Service is currently investigating the Albert Dock ship fire and treating the cause as accidental.
On Friday last week the fire service was called to Albert Dock to reports of a blaze on a cargo hold containing scrap metal. Throughout the day, large plumes of smoke could be seen throughout the city with residents saying they could smell the smoke as far as Holderness Road.
A number of roads and businesses were closed as a result, including the Ice Arena and Odeon Cinema on Kingston Retail Park. Roads had reopened by 5pm the same day.
