TIGERS BOSS HAS MADE A TERRIFIC START TO LIFE AT THE MKM STADIUM

- By BARRY COOPER

HULL City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has been overlooked for the October Manager of the Month award, with the crown going to Coventry City manager Frank Lampard.

City claimed an impressive 10 points from 12 in the month with wins over Sheffield United, Leicester City and Birmingham City, and were on course to make it a clean sweep until Charlton Athletic snatched a 91st-minute equaliser to claim a 1-1 draw at the MKM Stadium.

Coventry, though, took 15 points from 19 in the month, with their only blemish coming when they suffered their sole league defeat so far at Wrexham on Halloween and bagged 18 goals along the way.
