ON Sunday afternoon starting at 1pm the Ferriby Social club on Low Street in North Ferriby are hosting a fundraising afternoon for MacMillan cancer support.

'Come together' for an afternoon of fundraising

The event will feature live entertainment from the talented vocalist Tess Fletcher starting at 2pm followed by the Beatles tribute band Abbey Road who will playing classic Beatles hits from around 3.30pm.

Abbey Road is a local band that may not resemble their musical idols, but they strive to emulate their sound.

The popular outfit will take to the stage recreating some of pop music's finest tracks with songs from the Beatles back catalogue spanning the history of the "Fab 4".

From the early Beatlemania hits like 'She Loves You' and 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' through to 'Hey Jude' and 'Come Together' there will be a host of fundraising activities taking place throughout the afternoon.

You might need to take along some loose change to support the cause if you can whilst enjoying some great live music.

ON Friday night the monthly 'Hutch Presents at the Willows Club' features the highly acclaimed tribute outfit Bootleg Bee Gees.

The band bring the magic of the Gibb brother music to the stage from melodious to some of the best Disco tunes ever produced.

I've always been a big fan of the Bee Gees, and the Bootleg Bee Gees take fans on a trip down memory lane and have them dance to the famous disco tunes that are favourites even today.

Even if Bee Gees music doesn't ring your bell the memories are timeless as most of us have shaken a leg to 'Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive' or felt every word of Words.
