Care home staff's compassion and kindness praised

HORNSEA FACILITY RATED OUTSTANDING

A CARE home in Hornsea has been rated outstanding and highlighted for treating people with “exceptional kindness”, by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors visited Cornerstone At The Park in July and have just published a glowing report.

The watchdog rated the home outstanding for how effective and caring it was, while the ratings for safe, responsive, and well-led were good. They said managers had brought in systems that were “dynamic and forward-thinking” and that staff felt supported.

The home, which opened in 2023, provides residential care to older and younger adults living with dementia and mental health conditions. The 16-bedroom property was catering for 15 residents at the time of inspection and is one of several belonging to Hatzfeld Care Ltd, which operates other sites in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
