Cannabis dealer threatened with knife and robbed

A MENACING young robber held a knife to a teenage cannabis dealer's stomach and threatened to “make a scene” if he did not hand over money. The victim handed over cash, two vapes and two metal neck chains, a court heard.

But he was warned: “There will be war if you tell anyone.”

Kian Daly, 20, of Baysgarth View, Barton-upon-Humber, but recently in custody on remand, admitted robbery between May 27 and June 10, 2023. He also admitted possessing a knife.

Stephen Welch, prosecuting, told an earlier hearing at Hull Crown Court that Daly telephoned a teenager and asked him to supply a small amount of cannabis. The 19-year-old dealer agreed and they arranged to meet nearby in a parkland area of Scunthorpe.

Daly turned up with an accomplice, who filmed them on his phone. Daly asked to smell the cannabis and the teenager handed it over. “Daly put both wraps in his pocket,’ said Mr Welch.
