Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) is the jewelled crown of India with the extravagant beauty of the Himalayas. Often referred to as the *Switzerland of the East', the Union Territory (UT) is one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Natural factors are more conducive for handicrafts, village and small-scale industries.
However, in recent years, the industries and commerce sector has been designated as the key vehicle for accelerating economic activity and to provide jobs to educated unemployed youths in the UT. During the last few years, the expansion of industrial infrastructure has received a lot of attention.
