Modi targets Cong, says Raj discontent still brews

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted the Congress government in Rajasthan, suggesting that discontent was still brewing between Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot despite "a century of handshakes in five years".

Addressing public meetings in Bharatpur and Nagaur districts of Rajasthan ahead of the November 25 assembly elections, the PM said that the two leaders were "halfheartedly posing for photo ops together" just for polls.
"Time and again there have been attempts to join hands. CM and the CM-in-waiting and senior leaders from Delhi pose before camera persons and make them hold hands. In the last five years, they have accomplished a century of holding hands but they haven't been able to unite," Modi said at a rally in Nagaur.
"A century of handshakes in five years, but there is no reconciliation. These people are pretending to join hands but there is bitterness in their hearts," he added.
