Maritime heritage complex project to be completed by 2028: Sonowal

India's National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) in Lothal, Gujarat, is progressing as planned, with the first phase of the project set to be completed by 2025 and the full facility expected to open in 2028.

The project, which is being developed with international partnerships, aims to showcase India's rich maritime history and its role in shaping global trade and culture.
Speaking to HT during a site visit on Saturday, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who was accompanied by Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel, said the NMHC is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'virasat bhi, vikas bhi' (combining heritage with development)..
