In a true testament to his lifelong commitment to martial arts and fitness, actor Akshay Kumar organised the 15th Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament in Surat (Gujarat) recently, bringing the Japanese martial arts discipline to the centre stage.
Expressing his vision for a platform devoid of financial constraints, he emphasises, "I wanted to provide an international platform for children from every town and village... an international tournament where everyone could participate without worrying about money. It has been absolutely free of charge for the last 15 years; in fact, during the lockdown too, we kept it going online."
Akshay Kumar, who was in Surat, Gujarat, for the International Kudo Tournament has been a promoter of various martial art forms all his life.
