SELF-RELIANCE IN DEFENCE LINKED TO STRATEGIC AUTONOMY, SAYS RAJNATH SINGH

Self-reliance in defence is not just about boosting production or economy but directly linked to the country's strategic autonomy and sovereignty, defence minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday, adding that India aims to grow the country's defence production to ₹3 lakh crore and exports to ₹50,000 crore by 2029.
"Defence and security are the collective responsibility of the entire nation and strengthening the defence sector is not just the duty of one institution or government but the shared resolve of all Indians," the defence minister said at a national conference on opportunities in the country's defence manufacturing sector, urging states and union territories to step forward and become
