War of words over voter turnout

The high poll turnout during the first phase on Thursday in 121 constituencies started off a game of claims and counterclaims between the two major coalitions in Bihar, the ruling NDA and opposition INDIA bloc, to highlight that the impressive voter turnout, especially of women and youth, had gone in their favour.
On Friday, PM Narendra Modi, CM Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders asserted how the impressive turnout of 64.66 per cent was indicative of people once again reposing faith in the NDA.
