PATNA: The Bihar police has sounded high alert in the entire state over the chakka jaam (statewide protests) called by RJD, Congress and Left parties against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the law and order situation in the state.

Similarly, security was beefed up around railway infrastructure and to ensure tracks are not blocked. Anticipating chaos, schools in Bihar already announced holiday on Wednesday.

The bandh originally called by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is likely to see participation of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Besides, independent leaders like Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has also announced to take part in the agitation.
