{ HEAVY SECURITY DEPLOYED ACROSS STATE } GHURTI RATH YATRA CELEBRATED
A person died and three others sustained burn injuries after being electrocuted when a Tazia, being prepared for the Muharram procession, came in contact with a live IKV electric wire in Giridih, police said.
A police official close to the matter said that the incident took place around 11:30 am.
“A person died and three others were injured after being electrocuted. The accident happened around 11:30 am in Chakosingha, under the Ghodthambha Police Outpost, which is about 200 km from Ranchi. The electrocution occurred when the top part of a ‘Tazia’ accidentally made contact with a live high-tension wire,” the official said.
Giridih deputy commissioner (DC) Ramniwas Yadav confirmed the incident, saying it took place during preparations for the procession.
