NCST flags RIMS-2 land row in Nagri during Guv meeting

A delegation of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), led by member Asha Lakra, apprised Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar of the concerns of the Nagri residents regarding the construction of RIMS-2 allegedly on agricultural land in their village under the Kanke block, during a courtesy visit to the Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

“National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) member Asha Lakra, along with a five-member team, made a courtesy call on Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Raj Bhavan on Saturday. In this sequence, she discussed with the governor the PESA Act, the construction of RIMS-2 on cultivable land, and action being taken by the commission on matters related to tribal society,” the press statement read.

Lakra had visited Raj Bhavan after an inspection of the construction site in Nagri on the call of villagers and had taken firsthand information regarding the villagers’ concerns.
