In-principle nod to transfer Ashok hotel to state govt

Union tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has principally agreed to transfer Hotel Ranchi Ashok to the Jharkhand government. The development took place during a meeting of state urban development and housing and tourism minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu with Shekhawat in New Delhi on Tuesday.

A press statement issued from the office of the minister reads, “In New Delhi, Sudivya Kumar, Minister of Jharkhand Government, met several ministers of the Central Government regarding various issues related to the all-round development of the state. In these meetings, topics related to tourism, urban infrastructure, and higher education were discussed in detail. Minister made a courtesy call on union tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. During the meeting topics were discussed for the overall development of the tourism sector in Jharkhand. In-principle agreement on the transfer of Ashok Hotel located in Ranchi to the Government of Jharkhand took place,” the press statement reads.

Minister Sonu said, “The Union minister assured me that he will send a letter with this effect within a week,” he said.
