AIIMS-P WAIVES PROCESSING FEE FOR INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTS

In a patient-friendly move, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, has waived the processing fee of 500 and 2200—applicable for obtaining verified medical records to claim hospitalisation reimbursement through insurance—effective from July 5.
However, the arrangement officially came into force on Monday, officials said.
Additionally, AIIMS-Patna has significantly reduced the processing fee for settling insurance claims in the event of a patient's death. The earlier fee of 2500 or 2200, based on the hospital stay duration, has now been slashed to a nominal 235.
