Unveils welfare schemes

Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma took a dig at the previous Congress-led government, accusing it of betraying the youth of the state.

During the tenure of the previous government, incidents of paper leaks resulted in a betrayal of the youth," he said. Sharma added that under his government, there have been no paper leaks and that recruitment exams are being conducted with complete transparency. "Our government believes in working transparently and is not only ensuring that exams are fair but also providing timely employment to the youth," he said.

The CM also criticised Congress leaders, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh, for making promises of a poverty-free nation but failing to implement policies that truly benefited the poor. He pointed out that while these leaders, including Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh, served as prime ministers, they did not effectively address the plight of the poor until 2013. "It was only under PM Narendra Modi that welfare schemes for the poor were introduced nationwide," said Sharma.
