Relief efforts intensified as heavy rain continues

The Rajasthan government has intensified disaster management and relief efforts across the state as heavy monsoon rains continue to lash several districts.
According to the weather department, the eastern region of the state will likely receive more rainfall from Saturday. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman died when her house collapsed due to continuous rainfall in Jhunjhunu district.
‘According to official data, the state recorded 327.05 mm of rainfall between July 1 and 23, which is nearly double the normal average of 163.88 mm for this period. As many as 31 districts, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Ajmer, Kota, Baran, Bhilwara, and Udaipur, have received over 60% more rainfall than normal, triggering flood preparedness and precautionary measures by the administration.
On Wednesday, several parts of the state, including Shunjhunu, Kota, Jaipur, and Sikar, recorded fresh rainfall. In Gudhagaurji town of Jnunjhunu district, a 36-year-old woman, Anju, died after a mud house collapsed due to heavy rain.
On Wednesday, Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1°C. Phalodi in Jodhpur registered the highest at 36.6°C, followed by Bikaner at 36.5°C.
