Privilege motion against RLD MLA moved by govt

The state government on Monday moved a privilege motion against Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MLA and former minister Subhash Garg for allegedly presenting "distorted" facts related to Bharatpur's Lohagarh in the assembly.

JAIPUR: The speaker referred the motion to the privilege committee. In protest, Congress staged a walk-out from the House.

A heated debate erupted when the motion against Garg was tabled by chief whip Jogeshwar Garg. In response, Congress legislators staged a walkout, with Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully accusing the government of attempting to intimidate legislators.

Speaker Vasudev Devnani conducted a voice vote on the motion, which was passed. Following this, the speaker referred the motion to the privilege committee. The Congress termed this move as a conspiracy to silence the opposition and staged a walkout from the House.
