Judge Blocks Trump's Wartime Plan for Speeding Deportations

A federal judge blocked President Donald Trump's plan to ramp up deportations of undocumented migrants under a centuries-old immigration law.
WASHINGTON:
The decision came hours after Trump invoked powers under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 in a proclamation on Saturday targeting Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang also designated a foreign terrorist organization.
The law was once used to justify the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
