Cop Names Judge Wrongly as Accused, Launches Hunt in UP

The Cop Wrote Chief Judicial Magistrate Nagma Khan's Name in Place of the Offender on a Proclamation in a Theft Case

PRAYAGRAJ: In what a Firozabad court called "bizarre" incident, a police sub-inspector in Uttar Pradesh "blindly" wrote a magistrate's name in place of the offender on a proclamation in a theft case and went on to proceed to search for the magistrate to trace the absconding offender.

The discrepancy came to the notice of the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Nagma Khan when the file was presented and case called out for hearing on March 23.

Sub-inspector Banwarilal reported to the court that "accused" Nagma Khan was not found at her residence when he went to search for her and requested magistrate Nagma Khan to pass orders against the accused.
