The Assembly Passed the Rajasthan Protection From Lynching Bill, 2019 in August 2019 and the Former Congress Government Sent it for Assent of President
JAIPUR: The Centre has sent the anti-mob lynching bill, passed by the Rajasthan assembly under the former Congress government, back to the state for reconsideration after the new assembly under the Bharatiya Janata Party government sought to withdraw it, officials familiar with the matter said.
The assembly will be apprised of the bill being returned by the Centre in the upcoming session, state law and parliamentary affairs minister Jogaram Patel said, confirming the development. "We are also yet to review the points which were raised by the President for reconsideration. We will discuss them and take necessary steps," Patel said.
