CHANDIGARH: Terrorist Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia, wanted in connection with multiple grenade attacks across Punjab, has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US, the agency said on Friday, in a development hailed by Punjab Police chief Gaurav Yadav as a "major milestone in the success of war against terror".
In a statement, FBI said Passia is affiliated with two global terrorist outfits and had illegally entered the US. "Today, Harpreet Singh, an alleged terrorist responsible for terror attacks in Punjab, India, was arrested by the FBI and ERO in Sacramento," FBI Sacramento said on X. "Linked to two international terrorist groups, he entered the US illegally and used burner phones to evade capture."
