Land acquisition for Vikramshila Univ begins

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had in February announced that Bihar would soon get another Central University in Bhagalpur, which would be fourth in the state apart from the other central institutions like IIT, NIT and AIIMs that have come in the last one and half decades.

On Friday, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena visited the site at Bhagalpur's Kahalgaon, where the Vikramshila Central University would come up and the land acquisition process has got underway.

"We went there to see the site, as the land acquisition process has commenced, and the necessary requirements. An approach road would also be required for the institution," he told media persons.
