Kejriwal Complains to EC About 'Hooliganism'
February 05, 2025
|Hindustan Times Noida
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal met top officials of the Election Commission of India (EC) on Tuesday to complain about alleged instances of "violence", "hooliganism", and contended that large-scale "voter suppression" may be used in Delhi with hours to go for Wednesday's assembly elections.
NEW DELHI:
The former Delhi chief minister claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Delhi Police were creating an atmosphere of fear.
Kejriwal said EC assured him of "strict action" to ensure free and fair elections. "We informed EC about incidents of violence and hooliganism by using Delhi Police. EC assured us that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty and that they will take all steps to ensure free and fair polls," Kejriwal said.
