CAQM revokes Grap stage 1 from NCR after 5 months

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) for Delhi-NCR on Thursday revoked Stage-1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) in the region after nearly five months, citing "considerable improvement" in the air quality in the last few days and a positive forecast.
NEW DELHI:
Meanwhile, the air quality index (AQI) worsened but remained in the "moderate" category on Monday for the fourth consecutive day. It stood at 156 at 4 pm against the 125 recorded a day ago, according to the daily bulletin of Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB).
In contrast, Gurugram logged a "moderate" AQI of 150 on Monday.
The threshold to revoke Stage-1 measures is 200. It was implemented across Delhi-NCR on October 15.
With the halt, even basic preventive measures to control air pollution such as mechanized sweeping and sprinkling of water on roads will stop.
