The Ghaziabad police on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Nandkishor Gurjar, along with his supporters and thousands of devotees, allegedly took out a "kalash yatra" in Loni on Thursday afternoon, and clashes broke out after the police attempted to halt the procession, which was being held without permission.
GHAZIABDAD: The Ghaziabad police on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Nandkishor Gurjar, along with his supporters and thousands of devotees, allegedly took out a "kalash yatra" in Loni on Thursday afternoon, and clashes broke out after the police attempted to halt the procession, which was being held without permission.
Police said prohibitory orders are prevalent in Ghaziabad till April 2, and holding of any religious event requires prior permission. To be sure, police said that they received information on Wednesday night that the procession would be held on Thursday.
