The accused also suffered burn injuries. He was caught by the neighbours while trying to flee
BHOPAL: A 43-year-old man, who was recently released on bail in a case where he allegedly molested a 12-year-old girl, allegedly raped the minor after her family refused to withdraw the complaint, in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Monday, adding that the accused has been arrested.
Police said the incident took place on December 5, when the survivor was alone at home and the accused, Rajkamal Chaudhary, barged into her house to pressurise her to change her statement in the molestation case.
"Chaudhary is a neighbour of the 12-year-old girl, and was jailed a few months ago for molesting her. Recently, he came out on bail and started pressurising the survivor and her family to compromise in the matter," Jabalpur superintendent of police Ritesh Shiv told reporters.
