Gopichand P. Hinduja dies at 85 in London

Gopichand P. Hinduja, chairman of Hinduja Group and one of the most influential figures in global business, passed away at 85 in a London hospital, PTI reported.

Fondly known as GP in business circles, Gopichand had been unwell for the past few weeks, the report added, citing people in the know.
The second son of Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, Gopichand was born in 1940. Parmanand Hinduja, who was from Sindh, then part of India, established the family business in 1914.
Gopichand was one of four brothers who built the business across continents. The eldest, Srichand, died in 2023, while the two surviving brothers, Prakash and Ashok, continue to lead the group’s vast operations.
Gopichand graduated from Mumbai's Jai Hind College in 1959. He also received honorary doctorates from University of Westminster and Richmond, The American International University in London.
