A flurry of high-level meetings and intense discussions unfolded in the state capital on Wednesday following the tragic stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
LUCKNOW: The stampede, which occurred around 1:30 am on Wednesday near the Sangam nose, claimed several lives and left many others critically injured.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath held multiple phone calls with Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout the morning, keeping him updated on the situation. Union home minister Amit Shah also reached out to the CM, offering assistance from the central government for the ongoing rescue operations.
