Zubeen Garg’s festival organiser, manager booked for murder

The special investigation team (SIT) of Assam Police criminal investigation department (CID) on Thursday added murder charge against Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta in connection with the singer's death in Singapore last month, special director general of police (SDGP), CID Assam, Munna Prasad Gupta, said.

Mahanta, the chief organiser of North East India Festival (NEIF), was arrested at Delhi airport on Wednesday shortly after he landed from Singapore while Sharma was arrested from Gurugram. Garg had gone to attend NEIF in Singapore where he died while swimming in the sea on September 19.
