Police ask GMDA to fix SPR stretch following crash due to pothole

The Gurugram traffic police have urged the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to urgently repair a stretch of the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) after an investigation revealed that potholes and a damaged road led to the death of a 29-year-old scooterist.
GURUGRAM: The victim, Aryan Verma, was run over by a truck near Kushal Chowk in Sector 49 in late December, officers said on Sunday.
Virender Vij, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), said he wrote to the GMDA chief executive officer on January 24 after receiving a detailed report from assistant commissioner of police (traffic east) Surinder Kaur. "We have urged the GMDA to immediately repair the stretch of the SPR near Kushal Chowk and provided them with spot photographs too," he said.
