HC allows 4-week parole to convict as sister dies

The Delhi High Court on Sunday granted four weeks’ parole to a 55-year-old gang rape convict, Tasleem, after his sister died earlier that morning

Tasleem had sought eight weeks’ parole to attend the last rites and spend time with his family during the bereavement, stating that the cremation was scheduled for 5pm at a graveyard in Mayur Vihar. The sub-inspector confirmed the death and raised no objection to granting four weeks’ parole.
