Will Host Ardh Kumbh on Lines of Maha Kumbh: Uttarakhand CM

The state government is in talks with Akhada office bearers and saints with the aim to organise the Ardh Kumbh fair on the lines of recently concluded Maha Kumbh fair, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday.

At Army helipad in Roorkee, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told HT that taking into account record turnout and footfall of devotees at recently held Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the state government was keen to host 2027 Ardh Kumbh as a full-fledged Kumbh fair.

"We want the 2027 Ardh Kumbh fair to be organised at the level and scale of full-fledged Kumbh (Maha Kumbh). For this, the state government is in talks with all 13 Akhadas and their representative governing body Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad as well as saints," said chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

"Will hold all related peshwayi (royal procession), Chavnis (setting up of tent colonies by Akhadas within Kumbh Nagar, Amrit Snan (royal bath formerly known as Shahi Snan) to best of facilities for devotees during Ardh Kumbh 2027," he said.
