AAP maintained that Kejriwal be given a Type 7 or Type 8 bungalow and not a downgrade from the previous one
The Centre on Thursday informed the Delhi High Court that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal would be allotted a reasonable accommodation in Delhi within 10 days, in his capacity as the head of a national party.
The submission was made by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta before a bench of justice Sachin Datta in AAP's petition seeking allotment of a residence to its chief convener in the Capital. The party had asserted that Kejriwal, as per the guidelines for allotment of accommodation from the general pool to political parties, was entitled to one government residence in Delhi, being the president of a recognised national party.
“Petitioner (Arvind Kejriwal) will be allotted an appropriate accommodation within 10 days from today, in accordance with law,” the law officer submitted.
