The Delhi government on Saturday announced the formation of a "Transgender Welfare and Empowerment Board" — a first-of-its-kind initiative to benefit the transgender community in the Capital, officials said.
NEW DELHI:
Chief minister Rekha Gupta called it a reflection of inclusive governance and said the government is taking "practical steps to uplift marginalised communities". "This is not merely a legal procedure but a symbol of our unwavering commitment... a practical and powerful step towards building an empowered and 'Viksit Delhi'," she said.
