Citywide raids against illegal migrants

The Delhi Police on Thursday intensified their crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, as it conducted verification drives across the Capital and detained at least two people in this connection.
NEW DELHI:
Senior police officers said over 300 people were examined in the city by local staff and their details have been sent to other departments. Police have also sent teams to West Bengal and other states for verification of addresses.
The crackdown comes as an extension of a two-month drive conducted by the Delhi Police following a December 2024 directive issued by lieutenant governor VK Saxena to identify and deport illegal immigrants.
