The Cabinet Will Take Up the Bill in Its Next Meeting Before Budget Session, a Government Official Said
DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand government plans to introduce a bill in the budget session of the state legislature beginning February 18 that will amend existing land laws to ensure balanced development, protection of the hill state's fragile ecology, and restrict sale of land to people from outside the state, government officials familiar with the matter said.
"The bill will be approved by the cabinet before it is tabled in the assembly during the budget session," one of them, a senior official in the revenue department added on condition of anonymity.
"Our government will introduce the strict land law in the budget session as per the sentiments of the people of the state," BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt said.
