Cross-border drug, weapon nexus busted after gangsters' arrest

Days after Zirakpur police nabbed Ludhiana-based gangster Lovish Grover, alias Lovi, and his accomplice Gurpreet Singh, the police have uncovered a cross-border arms and drug smuggling nexus.
MOHALI:
Investigations reveal that Grover allegedly procured arms and drugs from Pakistan through Amritsar.
A police team led by station house officer (SHO) Jaskanwal Singh Sekhon apprehended Grover at Flat 12C, Shiva Enclave, Singhpura, after a brief encounter on March 21. When police knocked on his door, Grover fired three rounds from his pistol. In retaliatory firing, he sustained a leg injury before being taken into custody.
